UV and Aftersun Protector CREAM? What do I need?

Skin care for women

UV Protection is used before exposing yourself to the sun. After sun, on the other hand, is applied after being in the sun.

1. UV Protection

UV protective cream, commonly referred to as sunscreen or sunblock, is a skincare product designed to protect the skin from the harmful effects of ultraviolet (UV) radiation emitted by the sun. UV radiation is divided into two main types that affect the skin:

Key Functions of UV Protective Cream:

  • Prevents Sunburn: Shields the skin from UVB rays that cause redness and burning.
  • Protects Against Premature Aging: Reduces the impact of UVA rays that lead to wrinkles and fine lines.

Types of UV Protective Cream:

  1. Chemical Sunscreens: Contain active ingredients like avobenzone or oxybenzone, which absorb UV rays and convert them into heat.
  2. Physical Sunscreens: Contain minerals like zinc oxide or titanium dioxide that sit on the skin’s surface and reflect UV rays.
  3. Broad-Spectrum Sunscreens: Protect against both UVA and UVB rays.

How to Use It:

  1. Apply generously to clean, dry skin 15–20 minutes before sun exposure.
  2. Use enough to cover all exposed areas, including face, ears, neck, and hands.
  3. Reapply every two hours, especially after sweating, swimming, or towel drying.

Choosing a sunscreen with at least SPF 30 and labeled as water-resistant and broad-spectrum is recommended for optimal protection.

2. What is after sun?

After sun is your loyal companion for your skin after a day in the sun. It’s a facial and body product that helps to soothe, hydrate, and give your skin a break after sun exposure. Its mission is to refresh and restore the hydration that the sun may have taken away.

Is after sun the same as a moisturizer?

Not at all! Even though they may seem similar, they are not the same. Moisturizers only hydrate the skin, while after sun goes a step further: it soothes, hydrates, and helps your skin recover from sun exposure, thanks to its special ingredients.

How do you use it properly?

After spending time in the sun, take a good shower to remove sweat, sand, or sunscreen residue.

With dry skin, apply an even layer of after sun. You’ll instantly feel a refreshing relief!

To maintain a radiant tan, continue using after sun for several days, even if you’re no longer exposed to the sun.

How often should you apply it?

Ideally, use it at least once a day for 3 to 5 days after your last sun exposure. This not only cares for your skin but also helps you maintain a beautiful tan for longer.
